Feature: It's Reading Challenge time!

It's Reading Challenge time!
by Lynsey Taylor

The time for looking back on 2012's best moments and achievements is over. We've reminisced over our Best Reads of 2012 and patted ourselves on the back for the reading resolutions we were able to keep. But now it's time to look forward.

Last year I attempted two challenges (not including my resolution to review very book). Those were: to reach a reading target goal of 220 books and to take part in the 12x12 in 2012 challenge. And this year I'm doing it again!

I only just barely made the 220 books by the skin of my teeth. I had to squeeze in a few last minute novellas, but I did it. The year before I'd read 256 books, so I hadn't thought 220 was overly ambitious, but I think the extra reviewing /blogging I did last year slowed me down quite a bit.

For the 12x12 challenge, the group that hosts it decided that 13x13 in 2013 was going to be too much for people. It would mean 169 books and many people just don't read those kind of amounts in a year, so to put it up seemed crazy. So 12x12, or 144 books, it is. Again!

The rules of the challenge are to create 12 reading categories—they can be different genres or any kind of categories you want—and you need to read 12 books per category totalling 144 books.

So here are my categories. If anyone has any recommendations for any of them, let me know in the comments. I've already pencilled in a few I plan to read! :)
